A New CEO For Harvey Nichols?!!??

FORMER Burberry chief financial officer Stacey Cartwright is tipped to be Harvey Nichols's new CEO. She would replace Joseph Wan, who is expected to retire later this year or in early 2014. Harvey Nichols said today that it "has no comment to make, but we can confirm that no appointment has been made".

Cartwright left Burberry in July this year in order to do "a consumer-facing chief executive role in 2014".  

Wan joined Harvey Nichols as CEO in 1992, and helped to build its presence on an international scale. He is also responsible for the brand's catering category, and launched the Oxo Tower restaurant on London's Southbank, as well as the fifth floor restaurant in its Knightsbridge store.

One Direction Victoria's Secret Show Truth

WE hate to be the bearer of sad tidings, but it seems that the rumors about One Direction performing at the Victoria's Secret show were just that; rumors. Yesterday's "can't confirm" has turned into a statement that is definite in the negative.

"The recent reports regarding One Direction appearing in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show are untrue," the brand said in a statement last night. "The band is not performing in this year's show. We will announce our artists in early October."

No statement has been forthcoming from the band as yet, but we can't help but imagine Harry Styles and co shedding a little tear at the thought of the fun they might've had with Karlie, Candice, Miranda and the girls. Although Harry at least might be relieved at escaping a run in with another rumoured famous ex in Cara Delevingne, if she takes to the catwalk again. Taylor Swift might be enough for this week.

Sienna's Audition Advice To Poppy

POPPY DELEVINGNE has revealed that Sienna Miller gave her invaluable insider advice about breaking into acting. 

"She gave me good advice on casting, saying, 'Just remember they really want you to get this role and they want you to be there'. With that, I just became a lot more open."

But despite that, she hasn't found it to be a walk in the park. "I'd go to castings with 20 other girls, who look identical, and leave with another 20 behind me," she told The Telegraph.

It seems like the acting ambition runs in the Delevingne blood, with Poppy's model sister Cara also about to make her acting debut in the forthcoming film Kids In Love.

Model Meets Gamer

CARA DELEVINGNE is set to follow in the footsteps of Karl Lagerfeld by appearing as a DJ in the world famous Grand Theft Auto V video game. The designer appeared in the game's previous incarnation, providing a soundtrack as gamers drive around the virtual landscape - and, by the look of the Instagram picture she posted this afternoon, Cara could not be more excited about taking up the mantle.

"I am so happy to announce that I will be a radio DJ in @rockstargames new GTA V coming soon! Tune in! Woop woop," she posted. In the accompanying image, Delevingne wears a baseball cap bearing the words "Los Santos" - a fictional city from the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

The game is released tomorrow, and until then we will have our fingers crossed that its creators, Rock Star Games, keep her virtual persona true to the cool tomboy we all know and love; no typical game babe looks for her please.

Donatella's Verdict on Lady Gaga's Song

DONATELLA VERSACE is a big fan of Lady Gaga's new song about her - which features lyrics that the singer described as a "love letter" to the designer.
"I would like to thank Gaga for her geniality, creativity, incredible talent and super bitchiness," Versace told Just Jared, who ran an interview with Lady Gaga about the song last week. "I am honored to be her friend and of course I love the song!"
Lady Gaga explained that although similar in subject to Jay-Z's song Tom Ford, her ode to Donatella is more personal: "It's not so much about Donatella as a brand as it is Donatella the person; about me as a person; that idea of what the public wants from you…It's about being a fearless female and not caring what people say about you - being proud of who you are and walking the walk no matter what."
The song will appear on Lady Gaga's forthcoming album ARTPOP - and will surely appeal to Versace fans, of which Gaga is certainly one: "Donatella, maybe she's a bitch, maybe she's too skinny, maybe she's too rich, maybe she's too out there. Or, maybe she's brilliant, maybe she's intelligent, maybe she's strong, maybe she's everything, maybe she's Donatella."

Oscar de la Renta: If Your Name's Not Down

OSCAR DE LA RENTA is downsizing - at least, just for the purposes of his fashion show this season. On September 10, just 350 people will be invited to the designer's showroom on West 42nd Street to see his spring/summer 2014 collection - a marked reduction from the double show for 316 guests last season and even larger audiences in the past.

Since people can see the show so soon afterwards online, he told WWD, "megashows lose the reason of why we're showing. It's important for [certain industry professionals] to look at the clothes and see them. They shouldn't have to go through 30,000 people, and 10,000 who are trying to take pictures of all those people who are totally unrelated to the clothes. I feel [its] the most manageable way and the most civilized way. Why have 20 million people with zero connection to the clothes?"

While some of de la Renta's loyal followers will be disappointed by their new no-show status, designers next on the New York Fashion Week schedule will be relieved - last season's double whammy meant models where delayed in getting to Narciso Rodriguez's show, next up. "I hate to inconvenience other people, as I hope other people wouldn't want to inconvenience me," he added.

One Direction And The Angels?

COULD One Direction really be heading for the Victoria's Secret catwalk as this year's headline act? Rumors abound this morning that the British boys - who are currently in the grip of a worldwide media frenzy thanks to the launch of their first film, This Is Us- will be hitting the catwalk along with the label's Angels in November.

The official line from the brand when we called this morning was that they "can't confirm anything" until this year's act is announced, but the image of the boys dancing alongside Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Doutzen Kroes, Erin Heatherton, Lindsey Ellingson et al has proved almost too exciting for the band's faithful Directioners to bear.

Justin Bieber headlined last year's show, which attracted 7 million television viewers - following in the footsteps of acts including including Maroon 5, Rihanna, Jay Z, Katy Perry, Nicky Minaj, Kanye West and Bruno Mars. The One Direction booking would confirm their status as this year's biggest act.

Taylor Swift Gets Caught Dissing One Direction at the MTV Video Music Awards!

                     OMG... Did you guys saw that I saw?!

The MTV Video Music Awards JUST started and the night kicked off with an award presentation by One Direction. Everything was alright until the camera zoomed in on Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez!

After several other confirmed that they saw what I did, we can say that it looked like Taylor was caught saying, "shut the f^ck up," when One Direction were announcing the nominees! 

What's even better than all of that, is watching Harry Styles uncomfortable look on his face when T's BFF, Selena, is the actual winner of the Best Pop Video award! 

But anyway, we can say that Selena's dress was gorgeous!

The 21-year-old actress wore a stunning Atelier Versace dress and shoes with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. 

And also our lovely 23-year-old musician, Taylor flew from wrapping her concerts in LA to the Big Apple to present at the award show with BFF Selena.

FYI: Tay wore an Herve Leger dress with Lorraine Schwartz and Ofira jewelry, Prada shoes and a clutch by Smythson of Bond Street.

Victoria Beckham On Loving LA

  VICTORIA BECKHAM has revealed that she feels her personality is more suited to America rather than Britain. "I am very career minded, and I think my personality is more suited to America," the designer told the New York Times.

But she isn't about to sign up to the extravagant LA lifestyle fully, preferring instead to keep her four children grounded. "We have what I consider to be normal birthday parties," she said. "I've been to parties in LA that are mind-blowing. I mean, quite literally mind-blowing. People get cell phones in the party bag, that sort of thing. Fabulous, fabulous parties. Ours aren't like that. They are normal kids' parties. We'll have a bouncy castle, a face painter." Nor does she subscribe to the pursuit of eternal youth. "I don't want to be made to look like I'm 25. I'm 39. I don't have any issues with my age."

She would however like to supersize the aptly coined Brand Beckham. "I want to get bigger and bigger," Beckham said. "I absolutely want an empire."
